Teaching Portfolio

Teaching art and design is something that can aid anyone at any age. I enjoy following a Montessori style of teaching that allows for the growth process to happen naturally. Getting the student or peer taught to be confident and comfortable in what they are doing is the most important part, and being able to watch them try, restart, reroute and flourish is just as rewarding as the end product. So far I have taught both adolescents and adults how to sew and design for such in order for them to be successful with whatever they set out for.

Each Backyard Buddy takes inspiration from their designated animal's anatomy to design a fun visual language that also aids in a specific function (sleep, wear, carry, etc.).They are designed to be fully sustainable by also using tent and sewing scraps as the stuffing, leading to an almost zero-waste manufacturing process.September-December 2024
